We organize night dives at least twice a week
Night diving is one of the most fascinating underwater activities.
The reason for this is the quality and quantity of life that is active at night, even in shallow water and on the sand; the colors are much clearer with the light of the flashlights compared to daytime natural light. The emotional charge that the night offers, along with the divers flashlights create a magical environment. There are aspects that must be considered when doing this type of diving and they will be discussed during the training you receive during the course of specialization for Night Diving.
In any case, many of the scuba-diving skills you need at night are exactly the same used during the day, but to carry them out in complete safety and peace of mind, the mastery of your scuba skills must still be improved and more specialized.
Why? What is there to see at night and, in any case, isn’t it a bit scary?
These are the questions that we usually ask people invited to attend a night dive for the first time. If underwater nature is one of your major interests in diving, then diving at night will allow you to observe aspects of aquatic life cannot be seen and studied during the day. For example, the "Alicia Mirabili" that is contracted during the day will expand itself at night by stretching its tentacles in search of food.
You will observe portions of the seabed - those illuminated by the torch – which are more clearly defined thus increasing the opportunity to notice more details. The seabed at night comes alive with many creatures that the daytime cannot encounter.
However, other fish species which are typically daytime, at night go in search of food and divers observe and document behaviors that are never detected during the day.
At night, the light source is your flashlight. Because the beam of the flashlight should not travel a long distance in the water, you will see that the colors are more vivid and bright. Photography is an activity that many divers can do with pleasure during a night dive.
Many species are unapproachable during the day but can instead be approached at night, while sleeping, which allows the photographer to capture more detailed perspectives.
At least twice a week we organize night dives. Thanks to the professionalism of its staff and its impeccable organization, Subaquadive Service is able to offer amazing night dives at the most beautiful dive sites, both in seawalls and in the shallows and, for the more experienced, the "Egle" wreck .
The meeting point is usually scheduled at 19:30, in time to watch the sunset and wait for the night while putting on the equipment. Only when the sky is completely dark, you will enter the water. Emerge into the night, after discovering a world of unexpected colors and having observed the creatures that are not visible during the day dives. Afterwards you will re-emerge and find yourself in front of the immensity of the night sky… a sense of euphoria is guaranteed and will accompany you to a dinner that you can enjoy like never before.
